Fit Chick Yoga -When people think of yoga, they think of its wonderful benefits--mind/body connection, increased flexibility and relaxation. Weight loss usually doesn't come to mind. Surprisingly, it is possible to burn fat, boost your metabolism and reap all the other benefits yoga has to offer. Backward-bending postures elevate the heart rate. Twisting postures stimulate the adrenal glands and flush out toxins. Flowing sequences, done quickly, will get one's heart into its target zone.

 

What We Offer at Fit Chick...

 

 

HII Yoga - High Intensity Interval Yoga--This is intermediate/ Advanced class. Short periods of high intensity low or high impact drills followed by low intensity yoga poses designed for strength, flexibility and balance.


  Vinyasa Flow Yoga --This class is a Beginning/ Gentle Intermediate class. It combines structured sequencing of postures with the movement of the breath to create a flowing yoga practice. It promotes muscle tone and flexibility of the joints, increases cardiovascular and respiratory strength while clearing the body of toxins, leaving you feeling calm and centered. Like all of the Fit Chick yoga classes, the only requirement is a bottle of water and a readiness to laugh..

 

Yoga Balance--This class is a Beginning/ Gentle Intermediate class.  Designed for functional strength, movement and balance, this class will ease you into corrective poses and deeply relaxing stretches.  Suited for beginners and intermediate yogis looking for a more relaxing experience, this class will still increase your core temperature and leave you feeling stronger, but more attention is given to instruction, modifications, and a slower tempo. Laughing is not only accepted, but encouraged, especially as we try new things!  All you need to bring is a water bottle and a sense of humor...

 

Weekend Unwind--This class is a Beginning/ Gentle Intermediate class.  As the name would suggest, this class is a great way to unwind after a busy week and prepare you for that week ahead!  This class is a perfect blend of the sweet and the sublime. Get ready to work hard as you release the stress of the week and then chill out and relax. This class is an excellent way to release the negative effects of stress from the body and the being as a whole, while building strength, flexibility, balance and fluidity in your practice. 

 

Foundation and Fundamentals-- For beginners or more advanced student looking to focus on the basic elements of the postures, breathing and connecting to inner joy.

Amy Scriver is a Certified Fitness Professional with passion for yoga. She was led to yoga 10 years ago after having issues with chronic pain and has been teaching it for over a year and a half. She finds it rewarding to improve her client's everyday life with the benefits that yoga brings - flexibility, strength and balance.

Stephanie

Stephanie LeMasters began practicing yoga in the early 90′s while teaching high school social studies. Practice began as a way to relax after a long day with teenagers. After having two children, work, practice and most things came second to the job of being Mom. Moving to Port Washington afforded her the chance to rediscover and deepen her practice at Om Sweet Om. Wanting to share this beautiful gift of yoga she bridged her background with her passion and became a yoga teacher. Sharing yoga has helped to make her a better mother, friend, person.  She thanks all of you for the pleasure of sharing this gift with you. After relocating to Colorado she continues to teach vinyasa, alignment and restorative yoga.
